Hi Casey, I like this post on cornerstone content. You said the alternative name to cornerstone content is evergreen content. I have also heard bloggers write about ultimate guides, epic guides, and pillar posts. Do they all mean the same thing as cornerstone content or are there some subtle differences? I'm interested in the answer because after I learnt about epic guides, I decided to write 10 of them and I called mine ultimate guides. They covered a broad sweep of topics such as entrepreneurship, small business, personal development, health, making money online and the like. Was I spreading my net too wide or I should have narrowed my focus?

Hey Paul,

Cornerstone content is sometimes interchangeable with pillar posts or ultimate guides. Usually all of these guides focus on more specific topics (instead of entrepreneurship in general, you might write "The Ultimate Guide to Remote Work for Digital Nomads"). Even this is somewhat broad for SEO purposes. Doing a broad guide on entrepreneurship could be useful, but it would be very hard to rank for a broad/popular topic.
