YouTube Blogging Interview & Updates for January Niche Site Portfolio Case Study
Recently, I had the opportunity to do an interview on blogging (and a bit about Substack) for a YouTube Channel, called “The S Factor.”
One of the really great things about being a blogger is getting the chance to help others by sharing your expertise.
While I typically do this through my written content, one of my goals for 2023 was to step outside my comfort zone and try doing some podcasts (see the previous newsletter for latest podcast) and a few video interviews.
If you are curious, you can check out the video on YouTube, or watch the video embedded in the article below:
While I’m not a huge fan of video as a primary means to promote your content (video editing and production is far more time-intensive than writing!), I do think it’s good to explore new mediums as the internet continues to shift.
Progress Update on New Niche Sites
In case you missed it, I recently posted the first 2023 report covering two brand new sites that I launched at the end of 2022.
While the future of blogging is still very much up in the air, I don’t necessarily buy into all the doom and gloom that seems to be consuming many writers.
Part of the reason for doing this experiment is to show writers real time updates of two new sites I’m working on, using many of the tips and tricks from Blogging Guide.
It is too early to make any determinations about success or failure for these two niche sites (will likely take at least 9 months to begin fully assessing this), but I was pleasantly surprised to see the sites showing early signs of growth.
If you’ve thought about building your own niche site, but assumed you were “too late,” I hope this case study will prove that there is still plenty of potential for new sites, even in an ever crowded search landscape!
Until next time!
